The Buttock1234 Custom Templates - 0.3.8

Postby Buttock1234 on Sat Aug 25, 2007 5:50 pm

A member of the MSE forums mentioned putting these up for download, so I figured I would share them with everybody.

I might work on a split one soon if feedback is good.

This template uses optional foil gradients. Find them here.

I think it wouldn't be a bad start for the Future Shifted style.
Looking good, have no problems with 'em!

I just don't like the white font.

I've posted the style file that changes the font to black, for those who want it.

Personally, I have no problems with white font, I think it adds to the "3D" effect I wanted the template to have, but whatever.

The style file. Identical to the one in the template, but with black fonts and no shadows.

I like the white font on them as well.

Also, although I'm currently unable to download these to examine them, I really doubt they're a good base for the futureshifts, even if the futureshifts weren't nearing completion.

Basically, I bet these are one solid piece each, but the futureshifts have to be separate pieces, because that's how the images available to me are. Honestly, the style I used as a base for the futureshifts was FPM Token/Textless.

Yeah, these are pretty much all one solid piece, so they wouldn't be much help.

These weren't really meant to be a base for the Futureshifts in any way, I just made them as an, in my opinion, tolerable version of them.

The futureshifts are tolerable, and much more tolerable than your frames. Heck, they're even better than the FD (current) frames.

I know. I like them. I will certainly download them for my collection, but the odds of me using them are low. Not that there's anything wrong with them, but more because I tend to only use templates that are in the source. That is a side effect of development; non-source templates get in the way.

I have wondered whether I should stop collecting templates :(

Nowadays, whenever I make a new set file, it takes about 2 mins to parse the game files before the dialog comes up, and about 4 minutes to parse the magic style files when I click magic. :(

Either way, good job. You've captured the essence of the FS frames (and the FPM ones to an extent) with a clean simple template.

Ouch. Right in the pride.

I just happen to intensely dislike the FS frames, that's all. If I had my way, I'd have the Classic frame come back, in a heartbeat. That's really the only Magic frame I've been able to stand, apart from maybe the Planeshifted frames.

But let's not turn this thread into a frame debate, please?

I'm right there with you on the classic frames. Specifically, I'd prefer the Mirage frames.

You asked us to post whether or not we're fine with you updating our templates.

Just in advance, for every template I make (just so I never have to post it again), go ahead. :P
