Unhinged Basic Land template (0.3.8)

Postby Idle Muse on Wed Sep 10, 2008 9:09 am

A picture is worth a thousand words of explanation, and I have three:

ImageImageImage

As you can see, this is a template for creating lands in the style of the Unhinged basic lands. It was based on a psd released by FirePenguinMaster at mtgsalvation some time ago, so all artistic credit must go to him. Thanks also to Pichoro for helping me out with ideas for how to implement the title box, which is really just a glorified version of his token template namebox with some very advanced scripts to get the colours to work.

Features included
- Click on the frame border to change the frame piping colour
- Namebox colour is derived from frame color
- Includes standard magic-new option for grey hybrid names
- Namebox that expands to fit the name you type in
- Optional MatrixBoldSmallCaps title font

Features absent
- Nonland frames
- Any text fields aside from name, artist and copyright
- Watermarks

To install, download the installer and double-click it. This template requires MSE 0.3.7 or later. Any bugs or feedback can be posted here, or at the main MSE forums, where I am about to go and create a thread for this.

EDIT: Finally managed to upload the file...

How come when I go to Print with this template, all the cards are tiny tiny. The template makes them small.

This is because for some reason, Lordpenguin set the card dpi very high, at 315. I'm not sure why. But to change it yourself, go find your data folder in the same folder as mse.exe. Open it, then open the folder "magic-new-unland.mse-style". In that folder, open the style file using Notepad (never never never use anything besides Notepad), at the top change "card dpi: 315" to "card dpi: 150". Save, close, and try printing again.

Thanks for the tip, but when I click on print preview, It still shows all of the cards as tiny. I went in and made the required change, but it is still showing small. Anything else that you would suggest?

Yes Please assist.

I still have that problem about printing the lands and are very small. Yes fun to print out and place sideways like split cards. But only for that amusement, would like some assistance on how to make the cards print out big like the regular cards.

Any suggestions?

I've put up a version with the fix I described above. And yes, I verified it to work by checking the print preview.

I'm sure this is posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

How do I install this, and other templates?

I downloaded and clicked instal, and nothing happens.

Thanks

Run the installer using MSE. Or drag and drop the installer on to MSE or a shorcut to MSE.

Just so I'm clear, when I download, I should save the file somewhere rather than just opening it?
