Top Trumps (0.3.7)

Postby MysticHobo on Fri Mar 09, 2007 10:38 am

Below you will find what I believe to be a fairly decent adaptation of the Top Trumps card game. While a perfect adaptation is as impossible as having a template for making Un-set cards what you will find I have done is allow for quite a bit of variability within a rather simple template.

EDIT: Now v0.3.7 compatible. If errors are found please let me know.

To use an Installer file, open it using MSE 0.3.7. It is also possible to change the file extension from "mse-installer" to "zip" and extract it as a zip file.

Hiya, how can I add extra backgrounds to this template? I'm made a load of new ones off Wordart and such and they look the same as the original ones, same file type and everything, and I add them to the 'style' folder emulating the format of the ones there - but they don't work. What am I doing wrong? :S

First, I've just posted an update. The template's custom background feature wasn't working; now it is.

Now, what you're wanting is to add multiple backgrounds to the menu. You'll need to open the game and style files for the template and add them. If you open them each with Notepad (important! only use Notepad!), and look around near the top, you should see the points where the menu is defined. You'll see things like "choice: Blue" and "choice: Steel" in the game file, and you'll see something like "Blue: blue.jpg" in the style file. Add some lines to each of them mimicing the format present. You'll have to edit both files to make it work.

Make sure you make a backup copy of the template in case you break it.
