Yu-Gi-Oh! Game and Style Update (3.8)

Postby artfreakwiu on Tue Dec 02, 2008 6:04 pm

This is an essential update - you will receive errors when trying to use the Yu-Gi-Oh! Standard Extra update without it.
Updates include an improved typeline, the new non-framed image options as seen on Anniversary Edition cards, as well as bold rules text options as seen on some structure deck cards, correct "DUEL TERMINAL" edition font (BankGothic Md BT (not included)), and the Gemini type selection.

Have fun!

ABOUT THE FONTS:
Most of the fonts come with MSE2 - however, some don't due to copyright and availability issues. The font needed for the title is MatrixRegularSmallCaps. I cannot provide a link for it here but you can find it pretty easily using google. The font for the Duel Terminal card edition is BankGothic Md BT. It is more difficult to find but can also be found using google. I'm sorry I can't provide links to these, but google is your friend. Now please, no more questions about fonts...

I don't suppose you would consider just updating the old thread next time; then I don't have to change the download links here and at salvation...

This could be due to the age of your computer. In the last couple versions, there has been a new phenomenon occuring. Some optimizations that are done are not running on older computers, even running Windows XP.

I do not recommend this as a permanent solution, but would you mind trying the Win9x fix to see if that helps you to open MSE?

It errors because MSE's program files must MUST MUST be UTF-8 encoded; you're not saving in a UTF-8 format.

Translations will be possible after 0.3.8; I recommend waiting until then.

Copy that...
I'll wait and see...until 3.8 comes...
after 3.8 comes...do me a fevor...
Tell me where to translate into TC, SC or JP...

Will you(MSE) consider to make a choice on styling field to determind Dpi & Pixels...
Ex: A screen is 800*600...B screen is 1024*768...etc
If I use same standard size to different screens...
it shows different size to user...although it prints same size...
but if it could be changed...It will comming easier to use...

I found a equation for printing size...hope it works...
2.54*(Pixel/Dpi)=???cm

Now...fix the problem on my computer first...
hope it works...otherwise...I must take my old computer back...

Not possible; card height, card width, and card dpi are not scriptable. They must be one specific number.

It also sounds like you are being "picky". What does it matter if it displays at different sizes on different users screens? If that user dislikes the size, they can change their screen resolution.

Anyway, enough. This should all be in the proper MSE2 forums; no more of this discussion here; in a couple days myself or artfreakwiu might even delete this bit of discussion, as it is effectively evading the rule of the forum that MSE2 discussion should be on the proper MSE2 forum.

I've updated it now as well. The thrust of my update is that now, the monster typeline works better than it basically ever has. It features a three-part combined editor field, with the three sections being separate. This better allows for things like "[Warrior / Synchro / Effect]". The best part is that the new fields are defaulted to the old fields (that aren't used anymore) so your old data is preserved. And of course, typing "/" actually moves you to the next part of the field now. Enjoy!

I've also made the minor alteration of moving some of the text replacements, like trademark and copyright symbols out into an auto_replace script, so that users can shut them off in the automatic replacements dialog under their edit menus.

How did you make the title of the monsters' name to look like the real one?
