After quite a bit of work I have finished my L5R template and am releasing the first and probably last, unless some bugs pop up, non-beta version. Of course as we all know bugs do show up unexpectedly so who know I have to post a patch at some point. But baring bugs I'm calling this thing done.

And with out further ado I bid you go forth and create honorable Samurai, sneaky Ninja, haughty Courtesan and what have you.

The new download is an installer file. To use an installer, open it using MSE 0.3.8. It is also possible to change the file extension from "mse-installer" to "zip" and extract it like a zip file. Fonts are in a separate download.

Note that if you don't have the new font set (includes L5RTitles font), then you'll need the updates found in l5r.zip.

While I know nothing of the game, I think that these templates look really great! I commend you for your time and effort put into them, especially with formatting the scripts to realign with so many different backgrounds and image masks. Excellent work!

Thanks, it did take a lot of work. Funny thing is I don't really know much about the game either, I just made the template in response to a request made on the MSE forums. At the time I didn't think it was going to take nearly as much work as it did. And having to realign the text box (and several other things) for almost every frame was a major pain. The only things that don't move around and are always visible are the card name and the copyright line.

Updated for MSE 0.3.1

There are still a few problems with the template as it stands but since they seem to be problems with the program itself and not the template I am posting an update.

The problems that I am aware of but unable to fix are:
- Flavor text is bold instead of italic
- image masks are a little messed up. The picture will not change size/shape when you change card types so the you will have to reload the picture to make it look right.

As far as I know those are the only two problems. For those that already have the templates and only need an update check the first post on this thread.

Hello,
I have a problem with the fonts : they don't work :s
Wherever the fonts or the folder with them is placed, the fonts are not used by MSE.
Can I ask for your help ? ^^

Fonts do not go where the templates go; fonts have to be installed in your system's font folder. I don't know your OS, but I use Windows XP. My font folder is C:\WINDOWS\Fonts.

And another update.

Changes:
- Name height changed in new styles.
- New official unaligned stronghold frame.
- An entirely new style; "Standard Full Bleed".

Notes about the new style:

"This is an L5R style similar to the "Magic artbackground" styles; where the art overflows and fills the border."

The big change is that with this style, you can actually control the transparency of the visible frame elements in the style tab. There's a text field that lets you set a number from 0 to 100; these numbers are percent opacity. You can also control the color for the copyright line and rarity stuff. Try it out!"

Is their any way to set the Keyword field to print a large centered circle as a break between keywords instead of using the "|" character?

I'd really like to do a true old style (like Jade/Imperial edition style), but I can hardly find any images of those cards anywhere.

Play CCG has images for just about every card/type/border that has ever been printed for the game. I believe that a different Font scheme was used prior to Pearl Edition (the set that introduced the Standard - Old template that you have).

The only thing that I have seen that I would personally look at changing, would be to make it possible to take away the Keyword section in the text box to make room for text for some longer-winded cards, but I'm not sure if that is possible.
